This class will introduce you to each of the instruments commonly found in the modern symphony orchestra! You'll learn about the common ranges, registers, tone colors, and uses for each section of the orchestra, as well as strategies for using them to write orchestral music! The lessons are built from a curated list of videos from my YouTube Channel, organized in a specific order to teach you the basics of writing orchestral music. Included with the lessons are a series of recommended exercises for practicing everything you learn and a free Discord channel, where you can connect with your fellow students and get feedback on your work!
